| What a wonderful week. Achievement tests always give us as teachers a chance to get paper work caught up and with spring break beginning tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. that means we go into our break feeling not feeling behind. (Is that a run-on sentence?) My mom and I leave on Monday around 3:00 p.m. to visit our precious, sweet, Angela. California Here We Come! Of course our idea of a great time in California is staying off the 12 lane highways and spoiling Angela and Jared. Give us the sun and a good book and we will be happy where ever we are. The boys will be home just 4 weeks after I return. I can't believe the year is flying by so quickly. Josiah will be done as a student and will find out what it's like to be a real adult with real money issues and decisions to make. I know God has something very special for him. Be patient son! Scott on the other hand comes home to his two jobs. He has been very fortunate to have had these jobs throughout his college career. No job searching for him each May. Praise the Lord. Hope everyone has a great spring break and a Marvelous Easter. | | |
| Yes, March is finally here. I don't feel as stressed as I usually do this time of year. I 'm not sure if that is because I'm really ahead of the academic meet paper work, or if I have forgotten something that needs to be done and I don't know how far behind I really am. If you take into consideration my age, it is probably the latter statement that is true. Please pray for me this weekend (March 10) as I have to give a challenge at a wedding shower. While I spend most of my days talking in front of my classes, I don't do well speaking in front of my peers. Also pray for Josiah as he goes to check out a school in West Virginia this weekend. He has a big decision to make very soon about where God wants him next year.I'm very excited about going to see Angela on April 2. My mom is flying with me. She hasn't been to California is over 50 years. I know we will have a great time once we get there. Unfortunately we get to go to Atlanta, Georgia first. Stupid airline flights are messed up. Also on the way home we get to leave LA at midnight and fly all night. Yippee! | | |
| The Snow is Here! The Snow is Here! Can anyone out there relate to me??? How would you like to be teaching 7th grade English at 2:45 on the first day of a real snow storm. Do you really think those students (whose numbers kept dwindling when parents came early to rescue them) will remember what antebellum and antidiluvian mean???? Who do you think is praying harder for a snow day--the kids? the parents?? the teachers??? So Angela is bragging about 85 degree weather and lawn mowers waking her up . I not real happy for her. I do want to go see her though. BUT the airline tickets are like $600 for the week of our spring break, just because it ends on Easter. The next week the tickets are $135. Do you think Mr. Newton will understand that I want to take my spring break a week later than the students? I'm sure he will say "Sure Mrs. Luttrull go right ahead. You work hard and deserve this break. Afterall--who else would be willing to teach 7th and 8th graders for 5 hours a day??????" Don't think that is really going to happen so I'm crossing my fingers that the prices will fall soon or that Priceline will accept my pathetic offer. | | |
| So winter is finally here. I sure enjoyed the warmer Nov & Dec. Only when you get old enough to have to pay the heating bills do you appreciate warm winters. BUT if it is going to be cold than there has to be snow. Not just a dusting of snow mind you, but lots of snow. So WHERE is it? The busy time of year is fast approaching. Academic meet! It seems like I just blogged about last years meet and here it is time to begin again. Who wants to take a test? Who wants to do an art project? Anyone interested in Bible Quiz??? So many questions, so few answers. The kids are back at their places of learning. Angela is learning to be a wife, nurse, etc and the boys are learning to be teachers. Josiah is in his last semester and then the BIG decision--where do I go from here???? Scott is only 3 semesters away from that question. When did my boys grow up??? My hubby is going back to school also. He is taking Biology at Ivy Tech in Marion. Proving you are never too old to learn. But when I looked at his syllabus last night, I was glad it was him and not me going to school. Too old to memorize all that info. So this has been an update on my life. Hope all of you are well and enjoying your new year as much as I am. | | |
| It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is fast approaching. With the ICA Invitational B'Ball Tourney this weekend I don't know when I will clean my house. With my mom coming on Wednesday that means I really need to do some deep cleaning. For as you who are not yet married will find out--there is clean and then there is MOM clean. I volunteered to keep 4 b'ball players from Michigan on Friday night so that means I will have to wash all four spare beds again before the boys come home on Tuesday. Oh well--it always gets done. God is good! I really have to dwell on that statement this week. Satan has sure been sending trials my way. So many times I feel like things are just going way too good for the Luttrull household. We have not experienced many trials as a whole, but things have changed this months. I will be glad when November is over. I don't want to go into detail -- let's just say there could be some real changes for us. If you think of it--pray for wisdom and guidance for us. Good news! Angela and Jared will be home for 8 or so days during Christmas/New Years. I so enjoy having my kids home. Especially when I get to have another female in the house. Wishing everyone a thankful Thanksgiving and a wonderful time with family and friends. | | |
